چکیده

Mixing is essential in microdevices. Therefore, increasing the mixing efficiency has a significant influence on these devices. Using conductive obstacles with special geometry can improve quality of micromixers. In this paper, numerical study caused by an induced-charge electrokinetic micromixer was carried out using plate curved arc shape instead flat or other non-conductive for Newtonian fluids. This also explored effect different radius curves, span length, number plates channel, pattern arrangement, concavity direction, and orientation angle against flow mixing. Furthermore, T-micromixer low diffusion coefficient investigated. It should be noted that considered channel symmetric regarding to middle horizontal plane addition reflects formation structures do not allow mixture process. While non-symmetric al-lows increase creating vortices. These vortices were created owing non-uniform distribution induced zeta potential plate. A rise length when constant improved When three one direction used, 91.86%, change increased 95.44%. With from 0 25, 19.2%.

Investigation of electrokinetic mixing in 3D non-homogenous microchannels

A numerical study of 3D electrokinetic flows through micromixers was performed. The micromixers considered here consisted of heterogeneous rectangular microchannels with prescribed patterns of zeta-potential at their walls. Numerical simulation of electroosmotic flows within heterogeneous channels requires solution of the Navier-Stokes, Ernest-Plank and species concentration equations. It is kn...

The effect of flow parameters on mixing degree of a three dimensional rhombus micromixer with obstacles in the middle of the mixing channel using oscillatory inlet velocities

The previous studies of authors on passive micromixers indicated that the micromixers dividing the flow to several layers, such as rhombus micromixers and micromixers with obstacles in the middle of the mixing channel, have higher mixing degree than other types. Also, using of oscillatory inlet velocities is an active method to enhance the mixing efficiency of micromixers. Therefore, in this st...
